I think I may be a hipster

Music in my life has been a large part of me. I’ve always looked for a soundtrack to listen too. When I was 12, we were given a passport kind of thing going into highschool and it asked “What is your favourite music?”, I wrote none. I wrote that because I was sick of mainstream radio music which was the only access to music to me back then.

As I entered high school, I became very interested to the music that my parents played while I was little. I became very fond to the bands such as Queen, The Beatles & Dire Straits. I became obsessed, especially with Bohemian Rhapsody & the entire album of Sgt. Pepper. These were the early days of High school where I was on my journey to find who I am in this world. This music crafted me in and my morals. However, I was constantly bagged and put down for liking such old bands that wasn’t mainstream of today. I was put down mostly for liking Queen, because of Freddie Mercury’s sexuality. I was called a fag for liking this music. I wanted to fight for these bands but I kind of gave up and searched for new music that wasn’t as bad as mainstream music.

Cometh the past year or so. The people who bagged me and put me down had turned all philosophical and how they’ve always loved the old classics such as Queen and The Beatles. Please, Piss off. Was I leading a hipster generation before it started? It makes me so angry seeing everyone love these great bands even though they bullied me through high school liking them. At least they have changed I guess. Another thing is how they talk so much about it, it’s actually weakened my  liking of them. Of course, you’ll be like step aside, nothing can destroy the vast greatness of The Beatles. YOU’VE RUINED MUSIC FOR ME. 

Anyway, End of rant!
